Coming Clean of the Recession aftermath

(I may have to post my economy-related write-ups here till the other blog spot, that seems to have a problem, is fixed. So here I go:

A lot is said about recession these days. People have different takes on it as to what it is and how long it will last. When there is negative growth for two quarters in succession, a slowdown is indicated. But when this slowdown is synchronized, that is other firms of the similar and dissimilar industries also face sliding profits, recession is said to have hit an economy. Amidst definitions and forecasts, some serious and some less-grim, it’s important for a job-seeker to take stalk of a situation and decide his course of action. Now, this job-seeker could be the one already with a job, but seeking a better one or the classical job-seeker, i.e. ‘the unemployed’. Here are a few facts to bear in mind while economy is going through its own roller-coaster ride.

* Always keep your eyes and ears open to the economic health of your nation, irrespective of the field of employment you belong to, as it always pays to know what you don’t know.

* When all is upswing with the nation’s economy, and the first sign of sickness comes through any of the three crucial industries, primary, manufacturing or service industry performing bad consecutively. This results in sustained inflation. It is now you should assess your career goals and job prospects.

3. Remember, recession is NOT uniform; it affects a few industries more than the others, and a certain work force more than the rest. To elaborate a few streams remain recession-proof such as Education, Health care, Security and such, which is to say that people will continue to study, or consult a doctor when sick or need a shield against crime however the economy might be doing. Similarly people with a back-up of specialized degrees like PhDs, MDs, MScs etc have less to jitter about. There are usually jobs for them. It’s only a workforce that is well-literate but is not specialized, who should defer their plans of job-change. Not that there are no jobs for them, but may have to settle for something that’s not their choice NO. 1.

Most importantly, recessions also come to end, education can always be upgraded as per the market needs, and job switch-over can be timed better as tools to combat slumps.

Nagging political thoughts

Whatever happens to our fundamental rights? Mayawati not allowing Sonia Gandhi to hold political rally in her own constituency and today saying that Ms. Gandhi's wish of going to jail would have been fulfilled, yada-yada-yada. Niggling politics leads to truncated political life but politicians like her wont know that or so it appears. Our country does not need such immature leaders. We need magnanimous and progressive leaders or at least an uninterrupted show and manifestation of it.There was one more instance where we saw this threshold crossed. Raj Thackeray's comment about Jaya Bhaduri: Guddi Buddhi ho gayi par akal nahi aayi. I am laughing. Ironical laughter it is. Its so easy for some people to cross all lines of basic civility and in-built bounds and boundaries. There are certain things that should not ever be said, this is one of those statements. Its unpardonable in the profession he is in. A profession requiring to be perpetually politically right and being a brilliant presenter at the same time. The man suffers from chronic attention-deficit syndrome and more often than not, resorts to unimpressive and unintelligent ways to draw focus on himself. He could do some genuine good by creating more and more employment opportunities for his people, its sad he is trapped in most avoidable gigs. And why don't we see any action taken against such domineering and dictatorial conduct in a theoretically democratic nation like ours? High time, Indian administration should get a backbone. It will make us all prouder citizens.

yet another moral-science reference

We all have our weak points, 'fault-lines' in geographical terms, if i were to give an analogy. But why on earth, do i have to give an analogy? To understand better how i view things...and 'weak point' is a weak word. Coming back to something more important ( at least, for the moment) is how sensitive an individual i am. Do i hear your mind scream that you dont care to know, to that i'd say 'wait a minute, im getting at something that might interest u'. So how sensitive an individual I am, let me accept it...not much. my reference point is not the sensitivity levels of others 'cause we all tick differently. Little babies, old people, handicapped having a deprived life shake me up the most. Will i reach out to them...ah! NO except for helping the babies, i wouldn't reach out. I am skeptical of their condition and scared of their intentions...but I'd like to help if i were in a group. Kind of help that would be reserved to doing their work, or financial help if i had money, but no touch, not cool with it., this condition does not apply to babies. I can pick them and dust them off even if they are covered in muck. OK, now i am done, ready for my introduction. 'Hello! meet me. I think I am a sensitive person, though i have a long checklist and many conditions on the level, to which i can do things for people, which is pretty next to nothing. Thanks i know, u r not pleased to meet me'.

Now, let me get into the brains of people who plant bombs where-ever they can and kids, women, men get blown away. What do u feel when u watch this news on TV ?....my guess is ...' Its a bad thing, and it shouldn't happen....thank god, I'm safe till now and mom-dad or sister or brother or child or wife or husband...we are all alive, oh we'll leave this country, its getting bad to worse ' etc.etc. I, an educated or lets say a literate person, not exposed to domestic violence or anything profoundly as deep-dark, having read chapters on moral science , so on and so forth, struggle hard to keep my desensitized self not take authority on my being. I feel absolutely no shock at the dead-ness of people who must be doing this shameful act....except for laughing ironically at their pathetic mental capacities. They have no point to prove. They are not down-trodden, They are not the only ones to see the hell that we all, people of all communities dont see on a day to day basis. None of us have a hunky-dory life, we all break down in the dark of night and sometimes keep the volumes of our sobs low as we dont like the idea of being labeled as weaklings....we all have scores to settle but not with other people, but with our own destinies and the only way we can do it, is by forgiving it, by letting that impeding negativity go. Its not the business of a financially unsound, morally derelict and insecured person to say things until he is financially sound, politically correct and a more confident individual, because thats when people really listen to you. People listen to you when their listening to you does not matter any more. Success comes when you acquire sufficiency...freedom to tell the truth, freedom to tell how you felt, about your anger, your sorrow and the anger and the sorrow that you feel no more That is when you have realized that you misplaced the blame on fellow-individuals who were battling with huge odds themselves, may be at different level or of different kinds. Dont feel the anger, anger perpetuates doom. Get rich, get unobtrusive and you'll know that after much toil you have become the one you hated and there are people below your mansion who hate you, like you hated them and blamed them for things, you didn't have. You want to tell these people to take a longer but safer route , develop a success acumen and discover liberation we all deserve and have to win on our own.
